The problem

A payslip shows the result. It rarely explains the journey.

People who work shifts — especially across several jobs — often keep hours in notes, chat messages, spreadsheets or memory. Overtime, bonuses and different hourly rates make the final payment difficult to verify.

The real problem is not only recording time. It is connecting every worked hour to a clear financial explanation: regular earnings, overtime, bonuses, daily totals and the final amount expected for the period.

Shiftly was designed to turn that fragmented process into one understandable daily workflow.

Product solution

One workspace for time, money and work history.

Instead of behaving like a simple timer, Shiftly combines independent work trackers, live shift data, transparent earnings logic, goals, reports and account synchronization inside one focused product.

Multiple work trackers

Users can keep a main job, driving work and side jobs separate, with independent rates, settings, shifts and totals.

Real-time shift tracking

A shift can be started and stopped directly from the home screen while time, earnings and progress update around the active tracker.

Overtime logic

Regular time, 125% overtime and 150% overtime are calculated separately so users can understand exactly where each amount came from.

Hourly bonuses

Seniority and other hourly bonuses are stored separately from the base rate and do not incorrectly increase the overtime base.

Goals and progress

Daily earnings goals help users see how much has already been earned, how much remains and how far the day has progressed.

Reports and exports

Work history, detailed reports, PDF summaries and CSV exports turn raw shift records into clear information that can be checked or shared.

Product experience

Designed to make complicated work datafeel calm and direct.

Earnings architecture

Transparent calculationsinstead of one mysterious total.

The calculation model is one of the most important parts of the product. Shiftly keeps the components visible and separate so users can understand how the final amount was formed.

Tracker-level separation

Each tracker keeps its own hourly rate, bonuses, shifts and calculation rules. Time from one job never leaks into another.

Snapshot-based shift records

Important pay settings are stored with each completed shift, helping historical totals remain stable even when current settings change later.

Cloud account isolation

Firebase Authentication and Firestore keep each user's trackers and work data connected to that account and isolated from other users.

Report consistency

Home, Shifts, Reports, PDF and CSV are designed to use the same calculation model so users do not see conflicting totals in different parts of the product.

Reports & exports

From raw shiftsto an explainable report.

Reports are organized by day and tracker, allowing the user to see both the individual components and the full result for the selected period.

Localization

Built for differentlanguages and directions.

RU

Russian

Complete localized experience for Russian-speaking users.

HE

Hebrew

Right-to-left interface support for users in Israel.

Development process

Developed throughreal use, not assumptions.

Problem discovery

The product started from a real work problem: hours, bonuses, overtime and expected pay were difficult to track across more than one job.

Product structure

The experience was organized around independent trackers, active shifts, goals, history, reports and settings instead of one overloaded calculator.

Calculation model

Base pay, overtime and bonuses were separated into a transparent model that could be reused consistently throughout the application.

Cloud integration

Authentication and personalized Firestore synchronization were added without replacing the user's local data or mixing accounts.

Real-world testing

The application is tested during real working shifts on a physical iPhone, including start, stop, editing, reports, exports and cloud data.

Release preparation

Localization, legal documents, stability checks and store preparation form the final stage before public distribution.

Technology

A native mobile foundationwith cloud synchronization.

Current result

A working product that turns complicated work records into clear, useful and verifiable information.

The iOS application has passed live functional testing on a physical iPhone, including tracking, cloud synchronization, editing, deletion, reports and exports.

The Android version is being developed on the same product principles, while the iOS release continues through final real-world testing and store preparation.
